Meet and Greet #1

Hello, my beauties! I realise it’s been quite some time since I’ve sat down to talk with you, one on one, that is. Except, of course, to ask really pressing questions about proper skin care. I love how you rallied behind water, the true elixir of life, and solved my problem in a jiffy! I am eternally grateful.

Another thing I am really thankful for is the recent upsurge in the number of followers on this blog. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to have people from across the world take out valuable time to read my writings and be kind enough to drop a thoughtful comment. It is a beautiful lesson in humility for me. I will never be able to thank you enough.

However, this recent trend also made me think how little I know of you and vice versa. My ‘about’ page is way out of date. Sadly, I am also unable to read as many blogs as I would like to.

So, I’ve tried to come up with a solution to this conundrum. Let’s treat this post as a little meet and greet, shall we? Would you be game for it and leave a comment telling me a little something about yourself? Nothing highly revealing or personal (in the nature of details). Just a tiny insight into what passions drive you, what you find to be most interesting, what you like to read/write about, etc. Also, you, in turn, can ask me something if you want. Just remember to keep it clean and casual. I hope the ones who participate will also be kind enough to visit the blogs from other comments on this post. If there happen to be any, that is (trust me to always be overly optimistic, duh!).

That’s all for now. I hope to hear from you soon!

As always, thank you for reading.

  1. Hello beautiful lady! I love your writing as well. You are so refreshing in my blog feed! I can tell you have a kind and lovely heart. I am a second wife (also in my second marriage) and I love my wonderful husband of 11 years. When I met Steve he was raising his three-year-old. My well-meaning friends told me I was a bit crazy at 28 for “dating a man with a kid”. Fast forward all these years, and I’m glad I did! My stepson is a thriving, smart, and wise 19-year-old now. I helped raise him, and we have an unbreakable bond. Kudos to ALL the stepparents out there who STEP UP! I’m a 44 y.o. Gen Xer who loves the music of the 90’s. Chris Cornell was my favorite. 😦 I am a follower of Christ and recovering from a dark childhood. I have learned to forgive and help others. I am SO THANKFUL for the WordPress family!

    1. Hello, love! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful story. You have my immense respect and gratitude for doing one of the most important tasks in life – bringing up a child the right way! Sending all my love and good wishes to your lovely family. I love 90’s music too! Maybe we could exchange playlists one day?
I am so sorry for whatever you’ve faced in your childhood but so proud of of the courageous individual you are despite everything. I am also, indeed, indebted to WordPress and the amazing community on here that brings me in touch with awe-inspiring people like you. Keep writing!

  2. Hi! I believe we follow each other’s blogs. My blogging consists of mostly about myself. I’m an immigrant to Norway and I write about healthcare, family and my cat to name a few things. Something about me: I love thunderstorms.

What is a random fact about yourself?

    1. Hi Stiina! Thank you so much for dropping by. Wow, i cannot wait to read what you write about healthcare. I understand it is a very difficult area to write about and the writer shoulders immense responsibility (I can only relate from what I went through while coming up with a series on mental health awareness). Family and cat – now that sounds like my favourite grouping of words in a sentence <3. Guess what, i love thunderstorms too! and dancing in the rain after a looooong drive :D.

A random fact about myself would be that I find it very difficult to remain still when I’m concentrating on something or am working under pressure. I keep fidgeting restlessly while delivering my best and most intense work. (wasn’t very helpful during exams though – used to keep twirling pencils. lol)

  3. Hello, Varnika! May I say I love the way you write. So polite and friendly!

Something about me. Well, my big passion is philosophy; asking all the big questions at the heart of the mystery of life. My blog explores many of those questions. If anyone would like to pay me a visit you can do so here.

My question for you, Varnika, is how would you describe your blog in 10 words? 😁

    1. Hey, Steven. Thank you so much :).
Wow! I’d love to explore these questions you talk of as well, even if there can be no conclusive answers for them ;). Shall definitely visit your blog regularly from now on.
Ouch, limiting me to just 10 words is quite harsh :/. How I hope to be able to describe my blog, though, would be – a place where everyone feels welcomed, loved and cherished unconditionally. Not sure if I can be so presumptuous as to make that claim right now. 🙂

  4. Hello, Varnika. Thank you for visiting my site. I came over to get acquainted, and found this neat post. What a great idea. I won’t take up a lot of space introducing myself. I’ll just say I am a writer of inspirational books and poetry, a teacher, an editor, and a minister of the Gospel. Needless to say, I stay busy, but that’s good. I have several blogs, including my author’s website, but the one I’m responding from — my “AHYOKA” site — is strictly a poetry site. I really do enjoy blogging because I’ve met so many wonderful people from all over the world, and I honestly feel many of them have become true friends. They have enriched my life.

    1. Hey, thank you so much for dropping by! I doubt there’d ever be a better combination than that of a teacher and writer. I cannot wait to read your writings. Would you please be so kind as to drop the links to your blogs here? I’d love to visit them!
You’re very right about the blogging word. I’m so much better for having come across so many wonderful people on here. I’ll be counting you amongst them from now on. Please do stay in touch and thank you again. 🙂

      1. I don’t know that you’d want to visit all of my sites, but I’ll at least give you the links, and you can decide. My author website is first.

Then I have two ministry sites:

Occasionally, I publish some articles on 2 or 3 of the sites, so you might find a few that are repeated.

And I have a Christmas blog as well:

I also have a site where I feature only the work of some of the creative writing students in my classes at the college where I teach. I don’t write any of the material on that site, but you may enjoy reading some of their work.
