To Do or Not to Do – What’s the proper way of skincare?

I don’t own a lot of cosmetics. Frankly, even if I did, I wouldn’t know what to do with it. I’m more of a lightly kohl-lined eyes and a tinted lip balm kind of girl. Not that I have anything against makeup. I just never felt any need for it. So, when countless tutorials pop up as YouTube ads, and hordes of fashion and lifestyle influencers vouch for the virtues of a newly launched product, I feel slightly intimidated and subdued. Most of all, I feel if there was something I haven’t been doing that I absolutely should have been! Am I letting my skin die? Am I letting my body down? Do I need to develop a night-time ritual and a day-time one? Do I need to go the parlour more often? How much moisturising is enough moisturizing?

And answers I have none. So if any of you would be so kind as to solve my dilemma, I’d be eternally grateful. If you’ve used products for skin care or have home remedies for common skin and body ailments as well as preventive measures, please drop your valuable insight in the comments section down below. You’d be saving a girl!

Remember, real queens fix each other’s crowns!

Thank you.

P.S. – I can see you liking the post but I don’t see any comments, sirs and ma’ams. Get on on it, pretty please?

  1. [ Smiles ] In regards to skincare, an intake of foods that a rich in vitamin A and Vitamin E helps greatly.

I would also like to add, that the consumption of eight to ten glasses of water will enhance the quality of your skin.

  2. Aim to preserve your natural beauty. Drink a lot of water to cleanse your body. Love and forgive to cleanse your soul. Always smile and you’ll see the world smiling back at you. Be beautiful inside and you’ll surely be attractive outside.

  3. I think you are lovely just the way you are! I also am a minimalist. I am 44 and some are kind to tell me I look late 20’s (skin not body). I attribute that to lots of water throughout the day. I started a good water regime around 18 and I’ve stuck to it. I also don’t smoke and I wear at least an spf 50. I do love L’Oréal skin cleansers and moisturizers. Mainly, I try to stay happy with the heart of a hopeful child. A happy spirit shows on the skin surface. Many blessings to you, lovely young lady! Keep up your wonderful writing!

  4. If you don’t like make up, that is okay. Focus on being healthy. Eat right and exercise. Drink those 8 cups of water. You’ll notice your skin becoming healthier. As a former esthetician, I recommend a simple skincare routine. A cleanser, treatment and moisturizer. I would go to get a facial and learn all about your skin. They can also recommend a skincare routine for you. (And it doesn’t have to be the expensive stuff either cough cough) …. How that helps.
