You lied to me
When I needed
A gentle soothing balm.
Nay, you lied for me,
An unpardonable sin,
Which you turned into a psalm.
You lied to me
When I needed
A gentle soothing balm.
Nay, you lied for me,
An unpardonable sin,
Which you turned into a psalm.
Well written. The last two lines are my favorite.

I liked it, but I don’t think lying is a sin of any kind. It’s normal human behavior and we do it every day. It depends on the kind of lie though.

Oh I got it all right. It’s an old formula girl falls for bad boy who tells her what she wants to hear (lies) then gets mad about it after they break up because her magic wand failed to change him. That’s my take please feel free to enlighten me. 🙂

Yep, you definitely got it all wrong. Probably try an unbiased view the next time?
It’s about two people in love. She was hurt and feeling low about something. He tells a lie to protect her from further harm. In doing so, he turns a lie, which is a sin, into a psalm, which is a holy song – because it was done for a good cause.

In other words he still told her what she wanted to hear.

Not what she wanted to but what she needed to. She didn’t fall for it. She knew it was a lie, hence the poem and the title and knowing how he turned it into a psalm. Open your mind, maybe?

My mind is wide open that’s why your words go in one ear and the other so fast. Cause there’s in-between to slow em down. 🤔😘🤣

Of course. That explains a lot. Can’t keep an open mind because you lack one in the first place. Thanks for clarifying.🤷

Hahaha thanks love! Don’t mind Dalbir, though, he has a dislike for strong women who can stand up to him and also doesn’t like feminism. Hence, his comments. You should see some of the other posts 😂. I’m used to it by now though. Thank you again! 💕

Well shadow opinions are like noses everyone has one and of them are better looking than others. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder and 100 % subjective.

Telling a woman what she wants to hear is an old (PUA) Pick up Artist trick and it works.
